Wynn's Hotel, hotel in Dublin

The grand 19th-century Wynn’s Hotel is located 5 minutes’ walk from Trinity College, Temple Bar and Henry Street. It offers an elegant restaurant, rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Entering Wynn's Hotel is like traveling back in time to the turn of the nineteenth century. Beautiful mahogany woodwork, ceilings with gorgeous moldings, huge mirrors that reflect the constellation gleam of brass chandeliers, a glimmering dining room, a bar/tearoom where ladies murmur to each other over tea and scones . . . even a doorman to help with luggage and information. Our bedroom was small but elegant, with a charming Edwardian bathroom (modern shower and towel warmer). Unfortunately, the area around Wynn's no longer matches the hotel's stately beauty -- downtown Dublin is not exactly seedy, but rundown despite its many monuments. Still, many sites of interest are within a short hike for the curious. Wynn's is well worth a stay for anyone who would like to experience the refinement of an age before Holiday Inns.

FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery & Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish vacation, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, an independent apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

Dublin is a bustling city that's walkable. The locals are friendly and rightly proud of their city and country. The museums are free and fantastic! Other exhibitions connected to the National Museum of Ireland are located in easy to reach locations and are also free. Lots of pubs with good food and music. Great craic!

Dublin is a very walkable city. We loved just walking around the city and seeing most of the major sites. It was raining one day but it was not a problem - we would just go into a museum and be surprised. I recommend talking to the people in Dublin - they are very helpful and friendly.

There is plenty to see and do in Dublin itself as well as the outlying areas. Temple bar is a good place to start but be careful as prices can be high in this area. The transport system is adequate with plenty of buses and this is supplemented by the Luis tram service. The fares are quite cheap especially when you look at the prices for buses and trams in England.

    Bustling, multicultural city.

Bustling, multicultural city. We took one of the hop on hop off buses and all the drivers were friendly, knowledgeable and witty. Again, the guide at the Castle gave us its history in a very interesting, clever and funny way. We felt safe, engaged and happy in the short time my friend and I were there. Our hotel was at the top of O'Connell Street and we were recommended the Parnell Heritage Pub and Grill on Parnell Street and we weren't disappointed. Excellent food, reasonably priced, nothing very much more than 20 euros.

What a beautiful place to stay with all the thoughtful amenities we needed to make our stay perfect! It was down the street from pubs and restaurants and walking distance to the center of Dublin as well as 3Arena. John showed us around the townhouse to make sure we could find everything and Geraldine was just a phone call/text away. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The garden was a lovely place for coffee in the morning. We had a short stay but when we return to Ireland we will stay here again!

The value for staying a full week was very reasonable for Dublin City centre.. breakfast was first class and great variety.. even though we didn't avail of it it was great to have the option of music ever night.. The advertising of this facility was misleading. I would have never paid €325 for a room with a bed, two chairs, no towels and shared toilets and shower. The locks did not work on toilets or bedroom in doors, owner had to work on my bedroom door to make it work properly. Any attempt to find another place was impossible due to France/Ireland Rugby Match that night. THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, it is what I would consider a Hostel, with a private room.

This hotel is in the centre of Dublin, so they provide earplugs as it can be noisy. It's a great location, right in the city centre near pubs, shops and restrauants. It was a little challenging to find as its in a laneway. The staff were great, the hotel also provides free fruit (always appreciated) and water. Room was clean with the basic necessities only, bed, ensuite, chair and hangers. It wasn't too noisy when the window was closed.

It was expensive considering it’s €17 Cab fare each way to the city. (Approximately 12-15 mins in car to city centre) very clean and comfortable though. Also cleaners were there dead on 11am and practically escorted us out the door, being in Ireland you would expect them to be a little friendlier, they barely said hi to us but walked out to lock the door after us, I found that strange for such a renowned friendly City such as Dublin.

We stayed at The Wilder at the beginning and end of our tour of Ireland. On both occasions it was just a delight.
